Once all mounting points are secure, give the supports a gentle tug to ensure they are properly installed.

Finding the Correct Support To ensure that you get the right strength for your lid, we recommend weighing it using a 2x4 board or other vertical support to hold the lid open. Place the board halfway between the hinge and the front edge, where the support will attach to the lid, and then place a scale on the ground under the board.
